Summer is here and that means so is the warm weather! For some, that can be lack of motivation to be inside a gym sweating when you could be out enjoying yourself. Here are some ideas for how to keep your workout routine fresh all while enjoying the summer weather.
For starters, get outside. You don’t need all the gym equipment and cardio machines. There are so many ways to move your body, from yoga in the park, a walk in your neighborhood or a good HIIT session right in your driveway. We spend so much time indoors and I promise taking your workout routine outdoors is something you won’t regret.
Secondly, for those really hot days consider getting out for a walk, run or jog in the morning or evening hours to avoid the heat rush. Morning walks are such a great way to start the day and you might even find you can cut back on the caffeine.
Lastly, take advantage of outdoor activities. Fitness isn’t just being in a gym or going for a run. It’s a celebration that your body can move functionally. So go out for a paddle on the lake, hike the hills, or play a game of pick up basketball. Enjoy what you’re doing and never workout a day in your life.
